Partial Care Program

Clinical addiction treatment in a comfortable, home-like setting.

Our partial care program offers the best in clinical breakthroughs, while also allowing freedom and independence in recovery.

Rehabilitation Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP), also known as a partial care program, may be right for you if you need structured addiction treatment without 24-hour supervision. It’s considered the middle phase between inpatient and outpatient treatment.

Same-Day Admissions Available.

If you or a loved one is ready to enroll in treatment now, we do have availability. Give us a call to secure your spot— we only accept a finite number of clients, as to maintain a low client-to-staff ratio.

What is "Partial Care" or Partial Hospitalization?

Partial care or PHP is a clinically intensive program that offers scheduled medical care in addition to therapy.

In some ways, a PHP is the best of both worlds: inpatient and outpatient. You’ll receive intensive clinical support and services. At the same time, you’re free to live on your own and work or go to school.

You will attend programming five days a week for six hours each day (9 AM to 3 PM, generally), and you have the option to live on your own or with your family, or in a sober living home.

The program includes several essential components, including: individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, specialized therapies, medication-assisted treatment, medication management, and drug testing.

Individual Therapy

You’ll meet with a licensed, board-certified psychologist for individual therapy sessions. Therapy is a compassionate space where you can talk about your thoughts and feelings freely. You can learn new ways to cope with your triggers, and you can work on related issues, like:

  • Trauma
  • Self-esteem and self-worth
  • Family dynamics
  • Depression or anxiety
  • Relationships
  • Goal-setting

Mental Health Counseling

You’ll work with a licensed mental health professional for one-on-one sessions. Most clients are not just struggling with substance abuse, but mental health disorder(s) as well. We find mental health counseling to be effective for everyone, regardless of their diagnoses.

Group Therapy

Trained facilitators run various groups each day. In these groups, you’ll learn a variety of skills related to:

  • Relapse prevention
  • Social skills
  • Creative expression
  • Addiction education
  • Life skills
  • Processing emotions

Family Therapy

Addiction can ravage family systems. Many times, loved ones feel lost and don’t know how to best provide support. Family therapy teaches everyone new tools and ways of communicating with each other. If you’re in a relationship, your therapist may also recommend couples or marital counseling to ensure both of you can support your recovery and each other.

Specialized Therapies

Our clinical team is top-tier, with most holding a doctorate in their area of study. Most clinicians at Footprints also have certifications as a provider of specialized therapy types, such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Addictive drugs change your brain at the cellular level. Severe damage can make it hard for you to focus on your therapy and ultimately, your recovery. Medications like buprenorphine and acamprosate can help amend those chemical imbalances. You might get doses each time you come to your PHP, and you might have some you can take at home too. Enrolling in MAT services is completely optional, and you may choose to enroll for detox but discontinue MAT in inpatient treatment— the choice is yours entirely.

It’s important that you take your medications on time and as prescribed because taking too much or stopping on your own can be dangerous. Your treatment team can support you in helping you stay on track with any prescriptions you have.

Medication Management

We offer psychiatry and medical monitoring for psychotropic and other prescribed medications. Ongoing medical appointments will be scheduled for you to ensure stability in your mental health and overall wellness.

Drug Testing

Drug testing helps keep you accountable to your recovery. All clients will receive routine and randomized drug testing to screen for drugs and alcohol. That may be a urine or saliva sample.

What is attending a Partial Care Program like?

Case Management

Part of your team here at Footprints is a case manager. With an educational background in social work, our case managers have the resources and the drive to set you up in sobriety. Case managers will act as your advocate, point of contact, and link to life outside of treatment.

Case managers directly assist with any ongoing legal, social, or housing issues. Your case manager will handle anything from communicating with the court or probation officers to filing family medical leave act (FMLA) paperwork. Not all cases are the same, which is why we match you with a case manager who has experience in cases similar to your own. If you are in legal trouble, needing to apply for unemployment, wanting to re-enroll back in college or trade school, etc. your case manager will be a driving force on your team to help set you up for success.

Check your insurance coverage right now.

No strings attached, no obligations, just information and a roadmap to guide you through this. Our team will coordinate your care, all you need to do is take the first step.
