Residential Treatment Program
Residential treatment programs provide care for clients following detox. Through the use of evidence-based therapies and drug addiction counseling, clients explore the underlying causes of their substance abuse while learning skills to manage cravings and avoid relapse.

Partial care programs, also known as partial hospitalization or PHP, allow clients to participate in treatment for five days out of the week. PHP day programs provide between 4-6 hours of clinical care.

Intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) are primarily geared toward those who don’t need medical detoxification or 24-hour supervision. An IOP serves as a step-down program following residential care or an alternative to inpatient treatment.
Outpatient Program
Outpatient programs allow clients to recover while living in the comfort of their own homes. Traditional OPs require less weekly attendance in treatment than intensive outpatient to allow for flexibility while still providing a comprehensive level of care.

Treating Co-Occurring Disorders
Sometimes those suffering from alcohol or drug addiction are also dealing with another mental health disorder, like anxiety or depression. When someone struggles with psychological issues and addiction, they have a co-occurring disorder or dual diagnosis.
Examples of co-occurring disorders that we see frequently in our Colorado drug rehab center are:
- Depression
- Bipolar
- Anxiety
- Panic attacks
- PTSD
- Schizophrenia
- Obsessive behaviors
- Personality disturbances
If you have co-occurring disorders, both disorders must be treated, as each disorder often reinforces the other, so ignoring one can make it harder to address the other. At our Denver, Colorado addiction treatment location, the clinical and support staff will work with you to ensure your co-occurring disorders are explained and treated.

Our team at Footprints to Recovery in Colorado consists of licensed psychologists, master’s level clinicians, and wellness experts focused on helping individuals overcome addiction. Jenna Richer
MSW, LCSW Executive Director
Jenna Richer received her Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) in 2002 from Smith College School for Social Work in Northampton, Massachusetts, and became a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in 2007. A native of Los Angeles, California, Jenna’s clinical experience includes working with individuals experiencing homelessness, severe and persistent mental illness, and co-occurring substance use disorders. Jenna created and managed several intensive, field-based programs providing 24/7 services to these individuals through the LA County Department of Mental Health (DMH) and Veterans Administration (VA), using the “Housing First” and harm-reduction models.
After moving to Denver, Colorado in 2015, Jenna brought her experience with, knowledge of, and passion for homelessness, mental health, and addiction to the Colorado Office of Behavioral Health (OBH), where she worked with the state securing SAMHSA grants for providers of mental health, co-occurring, and housing services.
Before becoming the Executive Director at Footprints to Recovery, Jenna served as the Division Director for Housing and Homelessness programs through Family Tree, working with local officials, city and county leaders, housing developers, and numerous state and county grants to implement Permanent Supportive Housing programs, which included field-based, mental health, and addiction services on site to assist in ending homelessness in Colorado.
Laurie Woodard
MA, LPCC, NCC Director Of Clinical Services
Laurie has been with Footprints to Recovery since 2019. She oversees all staff at our Colorado location including supervision as well as group scheduling, client concerns, and chart reviews. Laurie earned a master’s in counseling from Regis University. She is a licensed professional counselor (LPC), and a licensed addiction counselor (LAC), and is trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and Brainspotting. Before joining Footprints to Recovery, Laurie worked in supervisory positions with youth and adults struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders.
Laurie got into this work because substance abuse and mental health disorders have been prevalent in her family, and while she wanted to avoid dealing with those hard truths for a while, the experience has allowed her to empathetically help others who are struggling. Laurie says what she finds most rewarding about her work is seeing the growth in others, though they may not be able to see it within themselves right away.
